Bob Djokovich attended the US Air Force Academy, where he played basketball for two years and captained the team, before graduating in 1978. He then began playing handball, playing on four national championship teams in 1978-80 and 1983. He was named US handball player of the year in 1983. Djokovich worked briefly on Wall Street after leaving the Air Force, but later returned to Colorado Springs where he worked for several energy, computer and microchip companies, including Advanced Energy, Ramtron International, and Atmel Corporation.
