Aside from his 1976 Olympic half-heavyweight silver, Georgian Ramaz Kharshiladze also won the 1975 World Championships half-heavyweight bronze and the 1980 European Championships half-heavyweight bronze. Domestically, Kharshiladze won the Soviet half-heavyweight title in 1974-76 and 1979-80. He was also Soviet sambo (a Soviet wrestling style similar to judo) middleweight champion in 1971 and 1973.
