Ken Okada competed for the Orange County Kodokan. He was a two-time national high school champion in judo and became a 6th-degree black belt. He was taught by his father, Sensei Ted Okada, a 7th-degree black belt. Ken Okada never won a US title but did have a second- and third-place finish at the US Nationals.
