Jimmy Pedro was a judoka who competed at four consecutive Olympic Games (1992-2004), winning bronze medals in lightweight in 1996 and 2004. Pedro also won three World Championship medals, highlighted by a gold medal in 1999, and adding bronzes in 1991 and 1995. Overall, he won 29 gold medals in various international competitions. Domestically, he won five national titles. Pedro was a rokudan, or sixth-degree black belt. He retired from competition after the 2004 Olympics and worked selling and promoting tatami and zebra mats for judo and jujitsu practice.
