Georgian Giorgi Tenadze’s best years were 1988 and 1989 as a judoka, winning three bronzes at the major international tournaments: the 1988 Olympics and the 1989 World and European Championships. Prior to those accomplishments, Tenadze won bronze at the 1985 Universiade and gold at the 1986 European Cup. He was also Soviet lightweight champion in 1986, 1989 and 1990.
