Mike Storm went to the University of Pennsylvania where he was a fencer and swimmer. Storm was a top-level fencer, who was US Junior Champion in 1978 in épée, and was US Junior Champion in 1979 and 1980 in modern pentathlon. He competed at the 1978-80 World Junior Championships in modern pentathlon and the 1978-79 World Juniors in fencing. Storm later earned an MBA from Harvard in 1989. He is a member of the Bishop O’Connell High School Hall of Fame (Arlington, Virginia), inducted in 2012.
