Enrique Lingenfelder came from a prominent rowing family and was an active competitor in the 1940s with Club de Regatas de Rosario alongside his brothers Guillermo, Carlos and Jorge. His father, Jorge, and uncle Kurt were also members of a rowing club in Buenos Aires in the 1920s.
Lingenfelder was selected for the Argentine eights team at the 1948 Olympics, which was eventually eliminated in the round one repechage phase. After retiring from competition, he later involved himself in the administration of Club de Regatas de Rosario, including as club president in the 1960s, as well as on its board of directors from 1966 to 1970; 1984 to 1986; and 1990 to 1992. He later resided in Oberá.
