Mick Allan rowed the coxed four for Australia at the 1960 and 1964 Olympic Games. He had débuted for Australia at the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games, winning a silver medal in the eight.
Allan was a carpenter by trade but weekly would come to the Sydney boathouse to repair and maintain the boats. In 2012 he was given the Rusty Robertson MBE Award, given for significant and sustained contributions to the endeavors and objects of Rowing NSW.
