Biography

Thomas Parker was an Australian national. He represented New South Wales as a member of the state’s eight in the 1911 Interstate Regattas who won the event. This earned him a place in the crew of the Australian eight competing 1912 at Henley and the Olympic Games in Stockholm. The joint New South Wales and Victoria crew entered at Henley as the Sydney Rowing Club as only club teams were allowed. The Australian eight won the Royal Henley Regatta beating Leander Club in the final. In Stockholm, however, they lost the quarter-final to Leander by ½-a-length. One year later, Parker became a professional rower.

With his first of three wives, he had four daughters. After financial problems, he later was active in the hotel and catering industry.
