Rower Viola Goretzki was a member of the East German gold medal winning coxed eights at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. In 1975, she was also a member of the eights that won gold at the World Championships, and earlier that same year, won the East German title. Goretzki later married her teammate Bernd Landvoigt, and became sister-in-law of his twin brother Jörg. She graduated as a teacher in the subjects German and history.
