Andreas Gregor rowed on the gold medal-winning East German eights at the 1980 Moskva Olympics. The boat, with the same members, had previously won the 1977 and 1978 World Championships. In 1982, Gregor won another gold at the Worlds, but with a slightly different crew. The following year he added the coxed pairs title. By profession, he was a boatbuilder and facility manager at the Regional Olympic Centre in Dresden.
