Reggie Ford boxed at the 1972 München Olympics. He was a bronze medalist at the 1971 Pan American Games and the 1974 Central American and Caribbean Games. Ford turned professional in 1977, fighting as a pro through 1984, finishing with a career record of 10 wins, 15 losses, and 1 draw. He fought for the Commonwealth title in 1978 against Ayub Kalule but lost by knock-out in the fifth round. Ford eventually moved to the United States where he opened a training camp at the world-renowned Gleasons Gym.
