Biography

West German rower Ellen Becker was a member of the coxed eights crew at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics that finished sixth. She was even more successful partnering Iris Völkner in the coxless pairs, winning the bronze medal. With Völkner she also won national coxed pairs titles in the four years from 1981-84, and also the coxed fours titles in 1981-82 and 1985. In 1986, she added another coxless pairs title with non-Olympian Annette Wolter.

Becker later became a graduated sports teacher and founded her own fitness studio in Westfalia. Later she moved to Berlin to work as a freelance fitness coach and personal trainer.
