German rower Sylvia Dördelmann was a member of the German eights at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, comfortably winning the bronze medal. The crew was subsequently awarded the Silver Bay Leaf, Germany’s highest sports award.
Nationally, Dördelmann won titles with the coxless fours in 1990, and eights in 1992. She also won the coxless fours silver medal at the 1990 World Championships.
