Albrecht Müller rowed in 1964 with the coxless fours and won the West German and European titles. The boat then competed at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, where the crew was one of the favorites, but they finished a disappointing sixth. Two years earlier Müller rowed double sculls alongside non-Olympian Jochen Berendes and ascended the West German podium in second. The next year Müller rowed together with Manfred Misselhorn, and again finished second.
