Biography

Frigyes Pabsz competed in athletics when he was in high school. Later, after entering university of law, he rowed for BEAC and Hungária EE. In the colors of the latter association, he won the Hungarian championship with the eights in 1934 and 1937, with the coxed fours in 1935, and with the coxless fours in 1936 and 1937. In 1934, he won the European championship as a member of the Hungarian eights. In 1936, he participated in the Berlin Olympics with the coxless four, where they failed to reach the final. In 1937, he was fourth in the European championship with the eights. At the College World Games in 1935, he won a gold medal with the eights, and in 1937 he won a silver medal with the coxed fours, and a bronze medal with the eights.

After finishing his sports career, he remained at Hungaria EE as a coach. Her sister, Mária Papsz, was elected Miss Hungary in 1930.
