Franco Trincavelli was an Italian rower who won a gold medal in coxed fours at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics and a bronze medal in the same event at Roma in 1960. A member of the historic Moto Guzzi club, Trincavelli also claimed two medals at the European Championships – a bronze in 1956 in Bled and gold the following year in Duisburg, both in the eights. Domestically, Trincavelli won six Italian titles in the coxed fours and three in the eights. Trincavelli was awarded the Gold Medal of the Italian Olympic Committee for his rowing achievements.
