Han Heijenbrock was a medical student at the University of Amsterdam, where he joined rowing club Nereus. A member of the Nereus coxed four, Heijenbrock qualified for the 1952 Olympics. The Dutch boat failed to advance from the heats and was eliminated in the repêchage. Han Heijenbrock then settled in Purmerend (north of Amsterdam), where he was a general practitioner until his retirement.
