Irene Moreno coxed the quad sculls for the US at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. She was a coxswain who competed for Cal State Long Beach, after graduating from Downey High School in California. In addition to her Olympic appearance in 1976, Moreno coxed the US four at the 1974 and 1975 World Championships. As Irene Teninty she later settled in the Pacific Northwest and worked in culinary service.
