Claudia Schneider rowed at Cal State Long Beach, graduating in 1975, and later for the Long Beach Rowing Association. Schneider had never rowed before college. She rowed with the US eight, dubbed the “Red Rose Crew,” that won a silver medal at the 1975 World Championships. Later Claudia Lockwood, she and her husband settled in El Dorado, California, where they raised three children. Schneider-Lockwood worked as an operating room nurse.
