Ridgely Johnson graduated from Princeton in 1980 with a degree in chemical engineering. He was senior class President at Princeton. Johnson was 6-9 (2.06), one of the tallest US Olympians ever in a non-basketball sport. Johnson competed for the United States at the 1975-76 World Junior Championships, winning a bronze medal in double sculls in 1976. He competed at the 1979 and 1983 Pan American Games, and the 1986 World Championships. Johnson later worked for Arthur Andersen & Company.
