Greg Walker began rowing in 1982. A Michigan native, he rowed in college at Wayne State University. Walker was almost exclusively a sculler, winning gold in the 1987 Pan American double sculls. He competed at the 1990 Goodwill Games in the single scull and quad sculls, and at the 1990 World Championships in the double. In 1990 he was US Champion in the single, double, and quadruple sculls. Walker represented the Detroit Boat Club after college.
