Tim Young won a silver medal in quad sculls at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. He also won silver in the same event at the 1995 Pan American Games. Young competed at the 1994 and 1995 World Championships, also in the quad.
Young attended Connecticut College, graduating in 1992. He worked as a research assistant at Hahnemann University Hospital while training for the Olympics, and then at the Medical College of Georgia in the department of neurology.
