Biography

Thomas Farnik became an Austrian rifle sports shooting legend participating in six editions of the Olympics between Barcelona 1992 and London 2012. His best result was a fifth place in 2008 followed by sixth places in both 1992 and 2004.

Farnik was even more successful at World and European Championships. At the Worlds he won a gold medal, two silvers and a bronze in 2006. Farnik also won two golds, one silver and two bronze medals at the 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2009 Europeans. In 1997, he was elected World Sports Shooter of the Year.

Farnik also enjoyed jogging, mountain biking, tennis, and football. He later became a self-employed personal trainer and mental coach for rifle shooters. He was also national coach in Austria, and later in Japan.
