Cypriot sports shooter Anastasios Lordos began his career with the Greek national team in 1973, competing at international, Balkan, and European competitions. A decade later, the Cyprus Shooting Federation was established, with Lordos winning four consecutive trap titles from 1984 to 1987. In 1984 he competed in the trap event at the Los Angeles Olympics, finishing 47th out of the 70 athletes. During his career the Cyprus Sports Writers’ Association named him as the best trap shooter on five occasions (1979–80, 1982, 1984–85). In addition to competing in the sport Lordos served in several administrative roles, including being a member of the board of directors of the Cyprus Shooting Federation. His brother Dimitris competed in the trap at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.
