Biography

Paul Colas was a four times Olympian from 1908 to 1924 winning a total of two gold, one silver and one bronze in different rifle events to become the most decorated French sports shooter. Over a period of televen years (1911-21) he won one gold (300 m military rifle standing in 1913), four silver and one bronze at world championships. He used old-fashioned French Lebel rifles, the standard rifle of the French army.

Son of a stockbroker, Paul Colas later became a doctor of law in 1907. The theme of his thesis was On disciplinary jurisdiction. Its application to persons who frequent the Stock Exchange.
