Maurice Fauré took part in the 1906 Olympic Intercalated Games in Athens and in the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm and several non-Olympic events at 1900 Paris. At Athens, he won his only medal, a bronze, in the team event of the free rifle, three position. After competing in free pistol, military revolver, duelling pistol, free rifle, military rifle and trap events in 1906, six years later he only took part with the duelling pistol. He was most probably the same Olympian, who competed at 1900 Summer Olympics in ten non-medal events. At the World Championships, Faure won silver in the team competition with the free pistol in 1901 and bronze in 1909 in the same event.
In 1933, he was elected president of the International Shooting Federation for Hunting Sport Weapons (FITASC) following Justinien, Comte Clary. Faure held this position until his death in 1945.
