Biography
Sports shooter Hellfried Heilfort won the East German national titles in the three positions small-bore rifle event in 1976 and 1979, and was then selected for the 1980 Moskva Games. He finished seventh in his specialist three positions event, but surprisingly won the silver medal in the prone 50 metres. In 1984 and 1986, he again won the East German title in the three positions event.
