Orfanidis, the son of a university professor in medicine, competed in three different Olympics, competing in both pistol and rifle events. Remarkably, he also won titles in both disciplines, a rare feat. Orfanidis worked as a lawyer for many years, and between 1921 and 1930, he was a member of the Greek NOC.
