Alkiviadis Papageorgopoulos was a Greek sports shooter. A military man, Papageorgopoulos first attended the Hellenic Military Academy in 1956, eventually retiring from the army with the rank of major. After starting off with rifles, he moved on to the rapid-fire pistol for completion shooting. In the rapid-fire pistol event at the 1959 Mediterranean Games in Beirut, Papageorgopoulos won the silver medal before going on to compete at three successive Olympics: 1960 Roma, 1964 Tokyo and 1968 Mexico City. Papageorgopoulos also attended the 1980 Moskva Olympics as a judge.
