Magne Landrø was an accomplished sports shooter who represented Norway at the 1960 Roma Olympics and the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. In 1963, Landrø won gold in the 300 metres air rifle at the European Championships. Three years later, Landrø won silver at the 1966 World Championships in Wiesbaden in the 300 metres free rifle prone, and followed that up with another European silver medal in 1969.
Landrø won five Nordic Championships. Between 1958 and 1978, he also won 26 national championships, and won three King’s Cups. At the Landsskytterstevnet, the Norwegian national rifle championships, Landrø was crowned the shooting king in 1961, 1976 and 1981.
