Biography

Mário Ribeiro was a Portuguese sports shooter who won several regional and national titles during the 1970s. Ribeiro represented Sporting CP in Lisboa where he was part of the team that won the Portuguese Bullet Shooting Cup from 1970 to 1977. He also won national titles in the free rifle and the 10 metre air rifle events. At the 1972 München Olympics he competed in two small-bore rifle events, finishing 63rd in the three positions and 92nd in the prone. In addition to competing at the Olympics Ribeiro also served as a jury member at the Games in Montréal (1976), Los Angeles (1984), Seoul (1988), and Barcelona (1992).
