Gheorghe Sencovici was a skeet shooter who competed at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. Sencovici moved to the United States in 1983 and settled in Summit, New Jersey, changing his name to George Sencovici. He had a masters’ degree in engineering from Polytechnica Institute in Bucareşti. In the US Sencovici worked as an information services consultant, and owned his own company, Info-Prompt Services, which worked primarily for Atlantic Health Systems.
Sencovici came to the USA with his wife and daughter. His wife was Margareta Pâslaru, a famous Romanian singer and actress. She first débuted in 1958 at The Romanian Union of Composers in Bucareşti. Because of her career, she travelled frequently between New York and Romania, singing and acting for over 50 years. Pâslaru won numerous awards for her craft, both nationally and internationally.
