Biography

Randy Stewart was in the Army, stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia, during the early 1980s, and was on the Army shooting team from 1978-86. During that time Stewart won won 23 national championships, 30 interservice championships, and 13 international medals. He was US Champion in running target shooting from 1981-84, and in 1983 won a bronze medal at the World Championships, the first American to medal in that event since 1968. At the 1983 Pan American Games Stewart won a team gold medal and an individual silver in running target. He graduated from Henderson State University in his home state of Arkansas.

Stewart later became a cattle farmer, but then taught biology, geography and geology at Kirby High School in western Arkansas. In 2007 he entered politics and was elected to the Arkansas State Legislature, winning re-election in 2009 and 2011.
