Biography

Stefan Opatril, brother of Markus Opatril was an Austrian freestyle swimmer participating at the 1988 Seoul Summer Olympics. He was disqualified in his heat over 100 metres. The Opatril brothers teamed up in the 4x100 metres freestyle relay but were eliminated in the heats.

Stefan Opatril later studied medicine and became a graduated dentist with his own practice. He also became vice-president of the Austrian Swimming Federation and coached at his home club SC Innsbruck.

Personal Best: 100 m freestyle – 51.33 (1992).
