Enrique Granados Aumacellas grew up in an aquatics family as his father, Enrique Granados Gal, competed at the 1920 and 1924 Olympics in water polo. Granados Aumacellas competed for Spain at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics as a distance swimmer. He later became President of the Balearic Swimming Federation and was awarded the Silver Medal for Sports Merit, as well as the Honor Plate of the Spanish Swimming Federation. He continued to swim into his 80s, and in 2015 participated in a relay marathon in Menorca. In 2017 he competed in the VIIIth Cala Gran-Cala d’Or Crossing in Mallorca.
