German Vera Schäferkordt was a freestyle swimmer. She was eliminated in the 100 metres freestyle heats at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, and with the 4x100 relay she finished seventh. The winner of 24 national titles, Schäferkordt later became a well-known coach of female swimmers in Düsseldorf.
