West German diver Hanns Aderhold participated in the springboard event at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. He was eliminated in the semi-finals and placed 11th. Aderhold was German Champion 1941-43 and 1950-52 and also won the 1950 European Championship. In 1951, he was awarded the Silver Bay Leaf, Germany’s highest sports award.
