Biography

Rhoda Rennie was a South African freestyle swimmer who represented Transvaal. At the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics Rennie won the bronze medal in the 4 × 100 metres freestyle relay. Rennie also swam in the 100 metres freestyle and the 400 metres freestyle but was eliminated in the heats in both events. After the Olympics Rennie ran a swimming school in Johannesburg. Rennie committed suicide by shooting herself at age 52.
