Biography

Born in Kazakhstan in 1955, Nikolay Myshagin had a very brief ice hockey career as a player with the Russian club Sputnik in Almetyevsk before becoming a noted coach. In his coaching career Myshagin worked with multiple clubs both in Kazakhstan and Russia from 1994 to 2019. He often worked with young players, including future stars Artyom Argokov, Yevgeny Pupkov, and Aleksey Koledayev. From 2003 to 2006 Myshagin was the head coach of the Kazakhstan national ice hockey team, with them finishing ninth at the 2006 Torino Olympics.
