Biography

Paul Schiller was an Austrian football referee who officiated in more than 100 international matches. Schiller passed his referee’s exam in 1954, taking charge of his first international fixture in 1964. During his career he was the referee in multiple tournaments including the European Cup Winners’ Cup, the UEFA Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, and various World Cup qualification matches involving European teams. Schiller was the referee for two matches at the 1976 Montréal Olympics and was a linesman for another fixture. After his retirement he worked as an official for the Austrian Football Association and as a referee observer for UEFA.
