Biography

Raffaele Scorzoni started his refereeing career in 1921, and between 1930-43 officiated in 251 Serie A matches. His final game was on 25 April 1943 when Fiorentina won 3-0 at Genova. In 1938 Scorzoni won the Giovanni Mauro Award as Best Referee of the Year. He refereed just one Olympic match, Poland - Hungary in 1936. Scorzoni was president of the Bologna section of the A. I. A. (Associazione Italiana Arbitri, the Association of Italian Football Referees), between 1954-59.
