Biography

The Minnesota-born John W. Chandler went to Paris in 1908 and studied architecture at the École des Beaux-Arts. In 1919 he graduated with the design of a golf club. He then joined the partnership of Chandler & Raisin. The office he was the local partner for the construction of the American Embassy, designed by Delano & Aldrich. From 1931-49 Chandler worked as a freelance architect in Paris.
