Willy Rist was the Swiss champion in men’s platform high diving, reigning for nine consecutive years, from 1933 to 1941. He spent the two decades of his swimming career with the BSC Old Boys Club in Basel, and it culminated in his selection for the Swiss Olympic team in 1948, where he competed in the men’s platform event. There, Rist finished ahead of his compatriot Ernst Strupler, in 23rd place.
