Biography

Ingegärd Fredin swam at the 1948 and 1952 Olympic Games, with a best finish of fifth in the 1948 100 metre freestyle. She won a bronze medal in the 4x100 freestyle relay at the 1950 European Championships.

Ingegärd Fredin emigrated to the United States in 1953, where she later went by Eva. She became a stewardess for Pan American Airlines from 1955-80 and a naturalized US citizen in 1963. After retirement Fredin lived near Seattle, Washington, where she worked as a volunteer for several different charities.
