Valentina Chumicheva was a Soviet diver who specialised in the 3m springboard during the 1950s. Chumicheva competed at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics and the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, with a best finish of fifth place in Australia. She was a three-time USSR champion (1952, 1956, 1958) and won gold at the 1954 European Aquatic Championships and a bronze at the European Championships in 1958. After becoming a mother Chumicheva ended her competitive career and became a coach. Her students included future Olympic champion Yelena Vaytsekhovskaya and Soviet champion Vyacheslav Strakhov.
