Charlotte Boyle swam for the New York Women’s Swimming Association. She set four world and US records between 1917-21. Boyle won AAU titles in the 100 yard freestyle in 1918, and won indoor AAU titles in the 1918 50 yard freestyle, and the 1919 and 1921 100 yard free. She married Henry Clune, who was a well-known newspaper columnist with the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. The couple had four sons and lived most of their lives in Scottsville, New York.
