In the 1990s, Jill Savery helped US teams win gold medals at four major international meets. She won gold at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, the 1991 and 1994 World Championships, and the 1995 Pan American Games. She also won titles between 1991-96 at the Rome Open, the Swiss Open, the French Open, the Pan Pacific Games and the World Cup. In 2008 she was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame.
Savery graduated from U Cal Berkeley in 1995. She later earned a masters’ degree in environmental management from Yale. Her career became as a sustainability consultant and advisor. She also taught an MBA course at the University of Nevada, Reno on corporate social responsibility. Savery was head of sustainability for the 2013 America’s Cup event, and consulted on the 2012 London Olympics in a similar role.
