Lynn Skrifvars was primarily a backstroker, but also won a gold medal at the 1971 Pan American Games in the 4x100 freestyle relay. She swam for the Phillips 66 Club in Long Beach, California and attended Cal State Long Beach. Skrifvars earned her degree in physical therapy and worked as a physiotherapist. She also competed in a few masters swimming events.
