Gordon Chalmers attended Franklin & Marshall College (’35) where he was on the soccer and swim teams for four years. Chalmers was AAU champion indoors in the 150 yard backstroke in 1933. He later became a swim coach, at West Point, and then became Athletic Director at Iowa State, and then Indiana State. Chalmers served as President of the National Swimming Coaches Association, President of the US Gymnastics Federation, and was on the Board of Directors of the US Olympic Committee.
